Centered Massage Therapy
Massage can be as much or as little as you need and can change
from session to session.  You and your therapist will discuss
what you are experiencing and from there you can decide which
massage is right for you.

TYPES OF MASSAGE & SERVICES OFFERED:
Swedish/Relaxation: Reduces stress and induces relaxation, relieves muscle tension, and
stimulates circulation.  This massage includes effleurage (stroking, sliding), petrissage
(kneading, compression), tapotement (percussion), friction, vibration and joint movement.  
Long flowing strokes made in the direction of the heart make up this truly relaxing massage
that helps you reconnect with your body and mind.

Deep Tissue: Helps alleviate pain, muscle spasms, stress, and inflammation while working
with the deepest layers of muscle and connective tissue.  Strokes generally used across the
“grain” of the muscle.  This Deep Tissue Massage really gets the knots out!!

Therapeutic:  Used to reduce muscle tension, increase range of motion (ROM) and reduce
the formation of scar tissue following an injury or surgery.  Some techniques used may include
muscle release techniques for repetitive use injuries (RUI) such as carpal tunnel, tennis/golfers
elbow, or thoracic outlet syndrome.  ROM stretching with compression or stripping of the
muscle, cross fiber friction and compression can also be used.  A therapeutic session can be an
effective treatment for frozen shoulder or help you recover from an injury and alleviate pain
from years of over worked or misused muscles.

Hot Stone:  Promotes relaxation, normal body function, and energy balancing.  Basalt Stones
of various sizes are heated 120 degrees and used to apply pressure during massage
techniques.  Aids to release muscle tension in the body like nothing else!!
Prenatal: A gentle massage geared to relieving the muscle cramps, spasms, and pain often
encountered in the lower back, neck, hips, and legs during pregnancy.  Safe, semi-reclined and
side to side body positioning with body pillows for extra comfort.  A full body massage designed
for the specific needs and comfort to mom and wellbeing of baby.  A must for moms to be!

Labor support:   Facilitating relaxation, energy conservation, breathing and use of comfort
measures including massage movement, vocalization, and visualization.  The use of techniques to
aid with muscle cramping mostly in the lumbar, sacral, and abdominal areas using hot and cold
modalities.  The therapist will also assist the mother to be in finding body positions that increase
comfort and enhance the labor process.   

Postpartum: To alleviate muscle strain and fatigue caused by labor and delivery;  promotes
structural realignment of pelvis and facilitates healing from cesarean.  Addresses the physical
stress of newborn care such as postural re-education.  Reduces stress and fatigue due to the life
style change that comes with an addition to the family.  

Chair massage: Designed to work on a specific muscle group in a short period of time.  An
efficient, fully- clothed massage that improves circulation, stimulates muscles, and reduces tension.

Ear Candling:  Originated centuries ago in Egypt and has spread around the world!  A highly
successful and proven treatment for sinus pain and pressure, sore throat, ear aches, swimmers’
ear, chronic headaches, allergies, and hearing improvement, removing wax and debris from the ear
canal.  Includes a soothing face and neck lymphatic drainage massage makes this a truly relaxing
experience!

Hand Paraffin: Soothing treatment for dry, rough, and achy hands (available with any massage).
